Activities
So I realise that by even putting anything down right now I will get an email as to my sleeping habits, but I napped today, I have a late class tommorrow, and I just want to get these things down. It seems that after 3 and a half years at CalPoly, the extracurricular bug has hit me again. I'm not sure if it is because I realise that I am going to be running out of time here, or if I just want to delay my impending doom of graduation. But anyway, the other day I added to my schedule of 19 credit hours an intramural basketball team and a jewelry smithing class at the craft center taught by Kevin (aka. Modman). It should be fun, and I know I will enjoy it. Today, after class, I went to the gym with Jackie. I decided that I didn't want to be completely winded in the half court basketball game next week, and well, I should get into shape anyway. I suprised myself by forcing a full mile run on the treadmill. I can't think of any time in my life where I stayed on a treadmill that distance, purely b/c well, I am lazy, and running is not my cup of tea. But anyway, I ran the mile, then lifted. I decided today would be leg day and I am sure I will suffer the consequnces of that decision tommorrow, especially with the ankle weights I wore all day.....except at the gym. It is probably also true that I went to the gym as a delay tactic. I have a project due next monday on Lake Shore Drive. I like that Dwyer is forcing us to use a media that is unfamiliar to us and will accept a less than professional presentation, for this project anyway. I plan to do my project completely in watercolor. Unfortuneately, my design is not completed, though the pictures and ideas are pouring through my head. I'm not sure if my proposal is exactly cost effective, but the idea is to save pedestrian lives. How can you determine the cost of a life? Well it is probably cheaper than the design of an underwater tunnel in a city (Chicago) with subzero temperatures. But I plan to strive for unusual this quarter, since Dwyer hates bland. By the by, if anyone has any real world ideas for a landscape architecture senior project, please, by all means, let me know. And no, I don't want to design your backyard, well I guess I could stoop to that level if you pay me 200/hr. Or if you own an estate that you want to spend an obscene amount of money on. OK, well, that's it for today. I'm out.
