So new quarter. new post. I am actually home, and its only 2:45, I can't believe it. Classes have commenced again and I am already enjoying the rather challenging world of Gary Dwyer. I decided today that he reminds me of my Uncle Tim, who is also extremely intelligent, and very set in his ways. They both have the same sort of wry humor which renders me more comfortable around them than around other adults, namely professors. He actually indirectly complemented me today. Apparently the word temeritous is not in the vocabulary of the average landscape architecture student. Dwyer was trying to help a fellow student with her design when he stated that uncommonly used idiom. When the student asked what the word meant he responded with, "the best way to find answers is to do what she does." Pointing at me. "She reads."
Another odd, and I am sure serendipitous thing happened in my Food Science and Nutrition class. The professor was talking about cuisines from different areas of the country. For explanation he pointed to different students stating things like texan, or californian. He then pointed at me and asked me what food I ate in Connecticut. I was taken rather off guard, as you can imagine. He had no idea that I actually lived there and it just struck me as interesting that of all 130 students in the class, he would actually point out someone from there.
My other classes include speech communication/critical thinking, Econ 201 and Professional Practice( ie portfolio). I think I might head over to Copeland Sports as they are only open for a few more days. I can get a lacrosse stick now for about 20 bucks.
Oh, and RIP mouses.
